Rangers are considering a move for Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt this summer.
Gelhardt enjoyed a standout season for Hull City in the 2025/26 campaign as he scored 15 goals in all competitions.
His performances helped Hull to defeat the odds and win promotion to the Premier League after they beat Middlesbrough 1-0 in the Championship play-off final.
It was a breakthrough campaign for the 24-year-old who had scored just eight times across loan spells at Sunderland and Hull in the previous two seasons.
Hull are likely to pursue a permanent deal for Gelhardt but it has now been reported by journalist Alan Nixon that Rangers have also entered the race.
Gelhardt joined Leeds in August 2020 but he has never been able to establish himself in the first team and he has scored three goals in 57 appearances.
After spending the last three seasons out on loan, Leeds are open to cashing in on a player who is unlikely to feature at Elland Road this season.
Rangers have already swooped to secure the signing of Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland and more attacking reinforcements are believed to be on their radar.
Manager Danny Rohl is looking to add more goals to his team and he will be hopeful that the club isn't priced out of a move for Gelhardt.
Rangers were in a three-horse race for the Scottish Premiership title for much of last season but their form tailed off in the final weeks and Rohl is keen to add more depth in a bid to sustain a challenge next season.
