In the most unfamiliar of seasons in the Scottish Premiership, there were familiar scene comes the end of the campaign as Celtic somehow got their hands on a fifth successive title.
Martin O'Neill's side had looked down and out in their attempt to land a record 56th crown, but a sensational end to the term, which saw them win their final seven matches, ultimately proved decisive as they pipped Hearts to the post in the most dramatic fashion imaginable.
A point at Parkhead would have been enough Derek McInnes' men to secure Hearts their first league crown in 66 years, but despite Lawrence Shankland firing them into a first-half lead, Celtic turned the game on its head to seal yet another title win.
Whilst significant changes are anticipated in Glasgow in the coming months, as the Hoops look to appoint O'Neill's long-term successor, it appears as though the champions are the team to beat in 2026/27 as they look to make it six on the spin.
Danny Rohl will, of course, hope to get an even greater tune out of his Rangers side on the back of a mixed first seven months in the Ibrox hotseat, whilst Hearts, who will be heartbroken after missing the chance to etch their names into history, are the 5/1 outsiders with the rest of the Scottish Premiership field at bumper two and three-figure prices.
bet365’s Steve Freeth said: “A nail-biting title race going down to the wire has raised the profile of the Scottish Premiership as well as increasing turnover with Celtic depriving Hearts of their of their first league success since 1960 in agonising fashion.
"With the uncertainty over who will be in the Celtic dugout next season, as well as scrutiny on Danny Rohl’s future at Rangers, Hearts are a significantly shorter than the 25/1 they were this time last year.
"The annoying thing is that we have to wait a few months for it all to start again."
