Rangers 2026/27 Scottish Premiership title odds as Ibrox giants confirm Derek McInnes appointment

Derek McInnes has been priced up at 13/8 to lead Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title in his first campaign in the Ibrox hotseat.

The 54-year-old was officially announced as Danny Rohl's successor on Wednesday evening, just a few hours after the Austrian had been unveiled by RB Salzburg.

McInnes arrives in Glasgow tasked with ending Celtic's recent Scottish Premiership stranglehold after they pipped his former club Hearts to the title in what was a tense and dramatic final day shootout at Parkhead last month.

Having taken charge of over 800 games throughout his managerial career, McInnes led Hearts to second place last season, agonisingly missing out on a first league title since 1960.

However, he will now hope to finally get his hands on domestic silverware at a club that he represented during his playing career.

Speaking to the Rangers' official website shortly after putting pen-to-paper on an agreement to return to Ibrox, McInnes said: "It is a real honour!

"The demands here are clear and our supporters rightfully have high expectations. It is up to me, my staff and my players to meet those expectations, and have this club performing as it should.

"There is a lot of hard work ahead, but already the preparations have begun and I am looking forward to meeting the current squad in the coming weeks and welcoming some new faces."

Former Rangers midfielder McInnes returns to the club 26 years after ending his five-year spell there as a player, and with a reputation as one of the most talented coaches on the domestic scene.

He enjoyed eight hugely successful years in charge of Aberdeen, leading the side to the League Cup in his first full season in charge as well as securing runners-up berths behind Celtic in four consecutive campaigns.

McInnes subsequently joined Kilmarnock and led them to promotion to the top-tier before making a move to Hearts last summer, whom he oversaw to their most successful campaign in decades.

His side were unbeaten at home in the league and looked primed to seal the league title only for Celtic, inspired by the return of Martin O'Neill, to pip them to the post by the narrowest of margins.
