Queens Park Rangers are targeting a loan move for Pierce Charles once he completes his transfer from Sheffield Wednesday to Manchester City.
Charles is reportedly having a medical ahead of a move back to former club Manchester City and a deal could be completed imminently.
The Northern Ireland international featured 21 times for Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship last season as the club were relegated to League One.
Despite a torrid season on and off the field for the Owls, Charles impressed and his performances caught the eye of the Cityzens.
It is thought that Charles would arrive at the Etihad Stadium to provide competition for Gianluigi Donnarumma, but the possibility of a loan move may depend on the future of out-of-favour 'keeper James Trafford.
Journalist Simon Jones has reported that QPR are keen to take advantage of the move and secure a temporary deal for the 20-year-old.
The goalkeeping department is an area which is an urgent priority for QPR manager Julian Stephan this summer.
Paul Nardi and Ben Hamer have both left Loftus Road since the end of last season, while Joe Walsh has been linked with a move to Wigan Athletic.
The club are thought to be looking at two goalkeepers and they will want at least one through the door as soon as possible.
A sensible approach would be to bring in a young goalkeeper with high potential as well as one with plenty of experience in the EFL.
Charles ticks the box for the former and it will be interesting to see if Man City are open to letting the player go out on loan.
