League One duo Plymouth and MK Dons are targeting an ambitious move for a Championship goalkeeper during the summer transfer window.
Plymouth will be seeking a return to the second tier next season after narrowly missing out on the play-offs last term. The Pilgrims recovered from a poor start to the campaign to finish strongly and Tom Cleverley's men will be hoping to pick off where they left off.
MK Dons meanwhile earned promotion from League Two last season, missing out on the title by just one point. The Dons will aim to survive in the third tier next season and an experienced goalkeeper will likely help their ambitions.
Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Murphy Cooper is no stranger to life in League One, and West London Sport reports that both Plymouth and the Dons have targeted the 24-year-old this summer.
Cooper is an academy graduate at QPR but has struggled to nail down a first team spot at Loftus Road, instead being sent on a number of loans to the lower tiers of the football pyramid.
The 24-year-old has spent the last two seasons on loan at Stevenage and Barnsley in League One, before a brief stint at Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday, proving his credentials in the third tier.
It appears that Cooper's future lies away from Loftus Road, especially given QPR are pursuing moves for other goalkeepers this summer, and his potential availability has alerted the interest of both the Pilgrims and MK Dons.
