We take a look at the contenders to be the next manager of Peterborough United after Luke Williams was sacked by the club.
Williams was appointed as Peterborough manager in October 2025 with the club rooted to the bottom of the League One table.
He led the club to safety last season but the new campaign has seen Peterborough pick up just five points from their opening seven fixtures.
The 2-0 home defeat to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday afternoon has proved to be Williams' final game in charge, with Peterborough currently 23rd in the table.

Richie Wellens
Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens has been linked with a number of positions over the last few months.
Wellens led Orient to the League One play-off final two seasons ago but he was left frustrated after his team finished 20th in the 2025/26 campaign.
Peterborough could be tempted to make a move for a manager who still hasn't reached his full potential.
Matt Bloomfield
Matt Bloomfield oversaw a solid 10th placed finish in his only full season at Wycombe Wanderers, before guiding the club to the upper echelons of the League One table during the 2024/25 season.
He was poached by then Championship side Luton Town but he was unable to help the club avoid relegation.
The 42-year-old suffered another relegation with Oxford United last season and he departed the club in June.
Paul Cook
Paul Cook has been in charge at League Two outfit Chesterfield since February 2022.
He led the club back into the football league in 2024 and he has guided the club into the League Two play-offs in each of the last two campaigns.
Cook would provide a wealth of EFL experience and he also has a League One promotion on his CV from his time managing Wigan Athletic.
Neil Harris
Cambridge United manager Neil Harris has done an excellent job at the Abbey Stadium in recent times.
He took over in February 2025 and, whilst his arrival came too late for the club to avoid relegation from League One, he guided the club to promotion from League Two at the first attempt last season.
The U's have made a strong start to the new campaign and they sit fifth in the third-tier table after their opening seven league games.
Darren Ferguson
Surely not?
Darren Ferguson has been out of work since being sacked at Peterborough in October 2025.
The 54-year-old has won promotion from League One three times with Peterborough in the past.
A fifth spell at the club would be an unprecedented step and he would arrive in a similar situation to the one he left behind last October.
