We take a look at the contenders to be the next manager of Peterborough United after Luke Williams was sacked by the club.
Williams was appointed as Peterborough manager in October 2025 with the club rooted to the bottom of the League One table.
He led the club to safety last season but the new campaign saw Posh pick up just five points from their first seven fixtures under the 45-year-old.
Peterborough have since lost at promotion chasing Stockport County and are currently 23rd in the table.

Robbie Savage
Football journalist Alex Crook has recently suggested Forest Green Rovers manager Robbie Savage is a 'serious contender' for the Peterborough job.
The former Premier League midfielder won a promotion as head coach at Macclesfield and is currently attempting to guide Forest Green Rovers back to the EFL.
Speaking before his side played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Sutton on 26th September, Savage said he wasn't aware of any contact from the League One side.
Karl Robinson
Former Salford City boss Karl Robinson was sacked by the club following the end of last season.
His final game in charge of Salford turned out to be the League Two play-off final, where they were comfortably seen off by Notts County.
Robinson has also managed MK Dons, Charlton Athletic and Oxford United during his career and would provide plenty of experience, with recent reports suggesting he had an interview at London Road on Tuesday 29th September.
Richie Wellens
Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens has been linked with a number of positions over the last few months.
Wellens led Orient to the League One play-off final two seasons ago but he was left frustrated after his team finished 20th in the 2025/26 campaign.
Peterborough could be tempted to make a move for a manager who still hasn't reached his full potential.
Paul Heckingbottom
Paul Heckingbottom is out of a job after he was recently relieved of his duties at Preston North End.
Heckingbottom paid the price for a poor start to the season after he oversaw defeats in six of the first seven Championship fixtures.
He may feel that he wants to go back in at Championship level and he would represent a good appointment for Peterborough.
Matt Bloomfield
Matt Bloomfield oversaw a solid 10th placed finish in his only full season at Wycombe Wanderers, before guiding the club to the upper echelons of the League One table during the 2024/25 season.
He was poached by then Championship side Luton Town but he was unable to help the club avoid relegation.
The 42-year-old suffered another relegation with Oxford United last season and he departed the club in June.
