Hull City were expected to struggle in the Premier League after gaining promotion via the Championship playoffs, but they have impressed with victories over Manchester United and Coventry City, as well as draws with Aston Villa and Chelsea.
However, the Tigers need to bounce back from the 2-1 defeat they suffered at Newcastle before the international break, and that may not be easy against Everton, who are unbeaten in seven Premier League and cup assignments this season.
Best Bet - Draw @ 12/5
Alternative Bet - Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to score at any time @ 3/1
Bet Builder - Oli McBurnie to be booked, Mohamed Belloumi 2+ shots and Everton to have the most corners @ 33/4
Best Bet: Draw @ 12/5
Hull have done well to gain eight points from their opening five games, which looks a decent foundation upon which to base a fight against an immediate return to the Championship.
The quality of opposition in those games means the tally is impressive and a win over Manchester United should breed confidence, as should draws against Aston Villa and Chelsea.
They are entitled to think that they are capable of beating an Everton side who have gone seven Premier League away games without a victory, but it may not be as simple as that.
The Toffees are unbeaten this season and draws at Tottenham and Bournemouth suggest they could claim another point when they make the trip to the MKM Stadium this weekend.
Alternative Bet: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to score at any time @ 3/1
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has to go back to three minutes before half-time of Everton’s first game of the season against Crystal Palace for the last time he found the net for the Toffees, but he can hardly be accused of not trying.
The former Leicester man has had a total of 26 efforts on goal in seven league and cup appearances this season, including six in the Merseysiders’ last outing before the international break, a 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town.
He should gain plenty of chances against another new boy on Sunday as he occupies an advanced position in the Toffees’ midfield and a second goal of the campaign looks overdue.
It looks set to be a titanic battle between Hull striker Oli McBurnie and the Everton defence and the Tigers centre forward will not shirk when fighting it out for dominance with James Tarkowski and Jarred Branthwaite.
McBurnie has been cautioned in three of his last four outings and given the likely physical nature of the exchanges at the MKM Stadium, it would not be a big surprise if he was to receive another yellow card for his troubles.
Mohamed Belloumi should be able to provide some decent support and he has had 13 goal attempts in his five Premier League outings this season.
His confidence will have been boosted by both goals in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea and two goals for Algeria in the international break, so expect him to have at least two shots in Sunday’s clash.
Everton should have the greater number of corners in the match too as they average 6.5 per away match this term while Hull have mustered a total of just four in their home games against Manchester United and Aston Villa.
