The most anticipated boxing event of the year may be about to get even bigger.
After months of protracted negotiations Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will finally meet inside the ring on 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, with the fight officially announced on Thursday.
The event is still likely to go ahead at American primetime, a move intended to appease streaming giants Netflix who are set to broadcast the super fight.
As such, Netflix are reportedly intent on stacking the card with talent, and are said to be in talks with Manny Pacquiao to add a massive co-main event to the show.
According to a report from BoxingScene, the current plan is for 'PacMan' to take on pound-for-pound great Shakur Stevenson.
Negotiations are said to be ongoing between the relevant parties to make the fight, while an official announcement for Joshua vs Fury is expected imminently.
Stevenson has been near faultless inside the ring since turning professional off the back of a decorated amateur career that saw him take silver at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
In July the 29-year-old signed a landmark deal with the upstart company Zuffa Boxing, fronted by UFC chief Dana White.
Meanwhile Pacquiao has not fought since a 12-round draw with Mario Barrios in July of 2025.
The 47-year-old is still set to once again take on Floyd Mayweather - despite their planned rematch being postponed this year - and the pair could meet in 2027, provided the American is able to overcome his ongoing legal troubles.
