The fight over a decade in a making his finally here, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will lock horns on 11 December.
On Thursday afternoon Turki Alalshikh officially announced that the biggest fight in the history of British boxing would take place in the UK.
The Principality Stadium in Cardiff has been selected to host the blockbuster clash, with the event set to be broadcast worldwide on Netflix.
In a post of social media Alalshikh wrote: "Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Years in the making. One night to settle it."
The news follows months of protracted negotiations involving the Saudi boxing supremo, Joshua's Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, and Zuffa Boxing chief Dana White.
Talks had seemingly reached an impasse over the summer with Hearn and Joshua reportedly determined the fight would be staged in the UK.
Meanwhile both White and Netflix were said to favour staging the event at the Madison Square Garden Arena in New York in order to maximise the commercial potential from the US viewing audience.
Fury's apparent support of plans to host the fight stateside sparked significant backlash among British boxing fans on social media.
Ultimately it appeared that a breakthrough was reached this month with the two parties agreeing the a compromise.
The fight will be staged at the Principality Stadium in the Welsh capital, though it will likely take place in the early hours of Saturday the 12th December for fans in the UK in order to appease broadcasters.
Speaking earlier this month Hearn insisted this fight is the biggest of Joshua's career.
"Joshua's whole career comes down to this," he said.
"There is a desperation to win this fight and this is why sport is the greatest. I've never wanted to win a fight so badly."
Meanwhile Fury said on Instagram this week that he intends on knocking the two-time heavyweight champion out when they finally meet inside the ring.
"I'm going to knock him out so bad, it's going to be unbelievable." Fury said.
"It's going to be the quickest knockout ever. The man's chinnier than a poppadom. Paper chin.
"I think if you blew on him hard enough he'd fall over. I'm taking him out. The last two real fights he had he was over in both first rounds - not including Jake Paul, obviously.
"The last two fights he had he was down in the first round twice. I'm taking this **** out in one round."
