Manchester City v Paris Saint-Germain predicted lineups and team news

Manchester City play host to back-to-back UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in a hugely-anticipated showdown on Wednesday night.

The Citizens head into the clash in superb form having won each of their last eight fixtures in all competitions, including a 3-0 thumping of Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday.

Despite the ongoing noise surrounding City's off the field issues, boss Enzo Maresca has challenged his side to remain focussed on the task in hand -- one that doesn't get much bigger than what stands in front of them at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Ligue 1 side PSG have reigned supreme in this competition in each of the past two years and were 4-2 victors the last time they faced City back in January last year.

They travel to Manchester as favourites to achieve a rare three-peat this term, having already flexed their European muscle with a thumping 6-1 demolition of FK Slovan Bratislava last month.

Enzo Maresca reported no fresh injury concerns following Manchester City's weekend victory over Liverpool, meaning the Italian possesses a clean bill of health for tonight's showdown.

England international Phil Foden is available after serving the final match of his three-game ban at Anfield, but isn't expected to start for the Citizens as they return to home soil.

With former head coach Pep Guardiola set to watch on from the stands as he makes his first return to the club since departing in the summer, it would come as a surprise were his successor make too many alterations to the starting line-up.

Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is almost certain to feature against his former employers whilst Matheus Nunes, Ruben Dias, Marc Guehi and Nico O'Reilly should all retain their spots in the backline.

There could be a case for resting former Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez on the back of his busy summer with Argentina and hectic start to the campaign in Manchester, but it would come as a surprise to see him left out in such a high-stakes clash.

Elliott Anderson was imperious in his side's comfortable win on Merseyside and is expected to partner Fernandez in the middle, although one change could see Jeremy Doku replace former Everton star Iliman Ndiaye.

Doku impressed and scored off the bench last time out, and could have worked himself into Maresca's plans as he looks to topple the champions and notch a ninth straight victory in all competitions.

Should the Belgian return, then he'd likely form part of an attacking quartet that also features Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki and talisman Erling Haaland.

For the visitors, Luis Enrique is able to call upon key pair Nuno Mendes and Ousmane Dembele after they were both rested in PSG's 3-1 win over Le Mans at the weekend.

Frenchman Dembele is likely to replace former Manchester City man Ferran Torres in attack, whilst Mendes should also be restored alongside other big-hitters in the shape of Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
