Leicester City are reportedly in line to sign experienced midfielder John Lundstram on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old spent last season on loan at Hull City and made 34 appearances in all competitions as the Tigers were promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs.
After returning to the top flight for the first time in a decade Hull opted not to pursue a move for Lundstram, and he returned to Super Lig club Trabzonspor.
Ultimately though, it appears Lundstram's time in Turkey will come to an end as he is set to terminate his contract at the Papara Park early in order to facilitate a move back to England.
According to a report from Pete O'Rourke, Lundstram is close to finalising a move to the King Power Stadium on a free transfer.
The former England youth international will provide some much-needed defensive cover in midfield as Russell Martin looks to secure an immediate promotion out of League One.
Foxes stalwart Hamza Choudhury departed the club last week after more than a decade in the East Midlands.
The Bangladeshi international initially appeared poised to join Derby County, but ultimately opted to return to Sheffield United after the latter half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Bramall Lane.
While Lundstram's move to Leicester will not be finalised in time for him to make his Foxes debut against Plymouth on Tuesday night, he will likely be available to feature when they play host to Oxford United on 5 September.
