Watford are reportedly closing in on the deadline day signing of Leicester City winger Stephy Mavidid.
The Hornets have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the 2026/27 Championship campaign, defeating Southampton on the opening weekend before recording back-to-back 1-1 draws against Wrexham and West Ham.
Barring the arrival of backup goalkeeper Sam Walker, Watford have done all of their transfer business in Italy, signing five players from sister club Udinese and one player from Serie A outfit Federico Ravaglia.
Alessio Dionisi's side are set to add more depth to the left-wing department on deadline day, but this time around they look to be concluding their business in the third tier of English football.

The 28-year-old has missed all of the Foxes' first three 2026/27 League One games amid speculation over his future, and he now looks set to seal a move away from the East Midlands.
Mavididi hasn't been short of potential suitors in the summer transfer window, with Derby County, Rangers and Middlesbrough amongst the clubs linked with a move for the winger, but it's Watford who appear primed to complete the signing.
Mavididi joined Leicester for a reported €7.5m in July 2023, and he showed immediate signs of promise at the King Power Stadium, recording 18 goal contributions in his debut Championship campaign as Leicester secured promotion back to the Premier League.
He enjoyed a less productive 2024/25 term in the top-flight -- as was to be expected in a Foxes team that glaringly lacked quality -- and he struggled to re-establish his form upon his side's drop to the Championship last season, scoring just three goals and recording two assists in the league.
It's yet to be seen as to how much Watford will pay to secure Mavididi's signature, but it's a huge boost for the club following the departure of Nestory Irankunda to Sporting CP earlier in the window.
