Leeds United are reportedly exploring a move for out of contract UEFA Champions League star Julian Brandt.
After an extremely strong first season back in the Premier League, which saw them comfortably avoid relegation, Leeds United are looking to strengthen and consolidate ahead of the new season.
With numerous links to potential new signings, Leeds are set for an exciting summer of incomings.
Harry Wilson looks set to join the club from Fulham on a free transfer, while the Whites have also been heavily linked with a move for Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who spent last season on loan at Newcastle United.
With Premier League experience and quality already set to be added to their squad, Leeds United are reportedly on the hunt for some top level European experience.
According to Graham Smyth via the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds have begun exploring a move for out-of-contract attacking midfielder Julian Brandt.
The Borussia Dortmund man will officially depart the Bundesliga side on June 30th, after which he will be able to join any club on a free transfer.
A German international midfielder, Brandt won a DFB Pokal and German Super Cup title whilst at BVB, having joined from Bayer Leverkusen for €25m back in 2019.
The midfielder, who turned 30 this month, has 48 caps for Germany and made 307 appearances for Dortmund, registering 127 goals and assists for the club.
Across his career, Brandt has made more than 80 UEFA Champions League appearances and, as a result, would offer significant experience and pedigree to most sides in Europe.
Leeds are reportedly amongst a number of both England and across the continent interested in securing his signature, however it is said that the Whites view themselves as one of his serious options this summer.
While his wages may prove to be a stumbling block in the deal, having earned a reported €150,000 a week in Germany, there's no doubt that Brandt would be an ambitious signing who could spearhead the Red Bull project at Leeds United.
