Ipswich Town have appointed their replacement for Kieran McKenna, after their three-time promotion winning manager departed just under two weeks ago.
Despite earning promotion back to the Premier League last season, the Tractor Boys were unable to keep hold of their manager, who had interest from a number of clubs, with Kieran McKenna choosing to step down for personal reasons.
As a result, Ipswich Town have appointed former Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Gary O'Neil as their manager for next season.
The 43 year-old Englishman already possesses significant managerial experience, most recently managing Ligue 1 side Strasbourg last season, replacing Liam Rosenior.
To date, O'Neil has managed 88 Premier League matches across his two stints, winning 25 of them for a win percentage of just over 25% and earning 1.03 points per match.
Those stats will be a small bit of hope for the Tractor Boys, with 1.03 ppm earning you 39 points over the course of a season. This has been enough to keep sides in the Premier League in all but six seasons.
As a newly promoted side, Ipswich are heavily tipped for an immediate return to the second tier, being priced as the third most likely side to be relegated at 4/6.
After Leeds United and Sunderland successfully avoided relegation last season, the newly promoted sides for this campaign may harbour some hope of avoiding the drop.
Ipswich are priced at evens to avoid relegation to the Championship, with Gary O'Neil having never been relegated across his career. The Tractor Boys are 5/1 to finish bottom of the standings.
