Everton join Ipswich Town in race for La Liga striker

Everton are reportedly looking to rival Ipswich Town in the hunt to sign Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong this summer.

Etta Eyong joined Levante from Villarreal last summer and he enjoyed a breakthrough season in La Liga.

The 22-year-old, who also operates from an attacking midfield role on occasions, netted six times in 29 league appearances as Levante secured their survival on the final day of the season.

The versatile Cameroon international had struggled to make an impact at both Cadiz and Villarreal prior to his move in July 2025 but he is now thought to be in-demand for another move.

According to TEAMtalk, Everton are interested in entering talks and Ipswich have had a long-standing interest in the player.

Etta Eyong is viewed as a player who has significant long-term potential following his performances in Spain.

The combination of his physicality and speed could see him thrive in the Premier League next season.

He is believed to be Ipswich's main forward target this summer and his versatility is something that also appeals to the club.

Ipswich are looking to assemble a squad which is capable of preserving their Premier League status and they are perhaps lacking in the number nine position as things stand.

Meanwhile, it is no secret that Everton are targeting a new striker following the inconsistencies of Beto and Thierno Barry last season.

The emergence of the Toffees in the transfer battle may force Ipswich's hand and they might have to move quickly to secure Etta Eyong's signature.
