There are five meetings set to take place across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday: two afternoon cards, one Flat, one jumps, followed by three evening Flat fixtures.
Racing Post tipster, Marcus Buckland, has provided three recommendations for the day’s action.
15:18 Yarmouth - Pennine Way @ 5/1
18:40 Kempton - Billy Mill @ 13/2
20:00 Hamilton - Tees Aggregates @ 4/1
15:18 Yarmouth - Pennine Way @ 5/1
An opening official mark of 60 may prove lenient for the Jack Channon-trained Pennine Way, who warrants a small interest in an open handicap.
The three-year-old has been beaten around six lengths on all three of her starts so far, running to Racing Post Ratings of 56, 49 and 57 in the process.
Her best performance on the book came on her turf debut over this trip at Catterick last time, the daughter of Aclaim putting in some good late work, having been outpaced at halfway.
She’ll likely benefit from a step up to a mile in time, but this track will place more emphasis on stamina than Catterick and she shouldn’t be far away for a yard that shows a healthy level stakes profit of £21.50 with its runners here.
18:40 Kempton - Billy Mill @ 13/2
Rod Millman’s Billy Mill is proving admirably consistent and has rock-solid claims in this London Series Qualifier.
The eight-year-old has won ten times in a 67-race career, including this corresponding race back in 2022 and has been a regular at Kempton over the years, winning three of his 26 visits and finishing placed on a further ten occasions.
His most recent course win came in January off a mark of 68; he’s only 2lb higher at present and comes here in good heart, having run to Racing Post Ratings of 75 when runner-up here the last twice. A reproduction of those efforts will put him bang in the mix once again.
20:00 Hamilton - Tees Aggregates @ 4/1
This should provide the Adrian Nicholls-trained Tees Aggregates with a winnable opportunity, the four-year-old having finished an encouraging third at Ripon 13 days ago. The selection has yet to win off a mark this high (69), but Jack Nicholls takes 5lb off his back, meaning he’s theoretically a below last season’s two wins.
This is his first trip to Hamilton and there’s a suspicion the stiff uphill finish will play very much to his strengths, having won at Beverley and Leicester previously. Both his trainer (9-37) and jockey (5-16) have excellent records here.
