There are a total of five meetings scheduled for Britain and Ireland on Tuesday, the action made up of a pair of afternoon cards followed by three evening fixtures.
Racing Post tipster Marcus Buckland has provided three recommendations for the day’s action, with a selection each from Salisbury, Southwell and Brighton.
14:48 Salisbury - Harry Knows @ 11/8
15:00 Southwell - Catchim @ 15/2
19:51 Brighton - Celtic John @ 9/1
14:48 Salisbury - Harry Knows @ 11/8
This second division of this novice event requires a fair amount of guesswork, nine of the 12 declared runners set to make their debuts.
However, the Richard Hughes-trained Harry Knows has experience on his side and will be hard to beat if reverting to the level of form he showed when touched off at Newbury on his introduction.
The selection is a half-brother to four individual winners, three of them successful at two, and he got within a head of winning on April’s debut, running to a Racing Post Rating of 80 in the process.
He wasn’t able to replicate that when turned over at odds-on at Goodwood last month, but he was keeping on towards the finish when hampered.
The son of Mehmas has since been gelded and Oisin Murphy, who was aboard at Newbury, is reunited with him.
15:00 Southwell - Catchim @ 15/2
Dan and Harry Skelton’s Beorma has been in tremendous form of late, rattling off a hat-trick off marks of 81 (twice) and 88.
However, those victories came in the space of only seven days and, while she clearly warrants plenty of respect, she may be in need of a break and could prove vulnerable to the Charles and Adam Pogson-trained Catchim.
The eight-year-old was a beaten favourite at Market Rasen last time, but he had little go right on that occasion, having been taken on for the early lead and suffered some significant interference on the home turn.
He’d won decisively at the same venue previously and could well bounce back off just a 3lb higher mark, especially if getting his own way out in front.
19:51 Brighton - Celtic John @ 9/1
Pat Phelan’s Celtic John has won just one of his 17 lifetime starts to date, that success coming over a mile in classified company on the All-Weather at Lingfield in January.
However, he retains more ability than his basement mark of 48 implies and shaped nicely when a never-nearer fourth over a mile here at the end of last month.
He’s made the frame on both visits to the Sussex seaside track, having chased home Charlie Johnston’s Gone Rogue on good to soft ground in October, and the style in which he finished off last time suggests he’ll relish this additional quarter-mile.
