It’s day four of the Glorious Goodwood Festival with the feature race the Group 2 King George Qatar Stakes in which Jm Jungle will be looking to defend his title.
The Racing Post’s Phill Anderson has picked out three selections for the best of the action at Goodwood for Friday’s action.

Friday’s opener is always one of the betting races of the week and this year’s renewal of the stayers’ handicap looks like an above average renewal.
The one that stands out at the prices is Annabel’s Ghost. This son of Waldgeist had some useful form for Andre Fabre in France and made a highly promising start for his new connections at Royal Ascot last month.
That was his first try over an extreme distance and he was ridden to get the trip, finishing off his race in eye-catching style from a long way off the pace, only just failing to get up for third.
That’s a run worth marking up for a couple of reasons. The French raider was hampered at a crucial stage when beginning to make his challenge and he easily did best of those that were in rear in a race that was run at a steady gallop.
Now that connections know he stays this sort of trip, expect him to be given a slightly more aggressive ride by Pierre-Charles Boudot and his mount makes plenty of appeal from a 1lb lower handicap mark with bet365 paying an extra place on the race.
15:00 Goodwood - Ebt’s Guard @ 10/1
There are probably a few better-handicapped sorts than Ebt's Guard in the Golden Mile on Friday but he doesn't seem to know how to run a bad race at present and he may be able to make the frame again, as was the case last season.
He lost out to the very well-handicapped Rhoscolyn in last year’s renewal when the ground came in the favour of that rival but Ebt’s Guard did best of the remainder and showed that was no fluke by winning at the Shergar Cup meeting next time out.
Despite not adding to his tally in the interim, he’s barely run a bad race and his form this season is rock solid, including a placed effort in the mightily competitive Hunt Cup on his penultimate start, form that has been boosted by the winner running a huge race in a Group 2 here earlier in the week.
He then went on to place again in another valuable, competitive handicap at Sandown and a return to Goodwood is probably in his favour, having only lost out by narrow margins in both previous course visits.
Crucially, he has a low draw for this year’s renewal (was in double figures last year) which is always a positive on the round track at Goodwood, particularly when there’s no cutaway, and at double-figure odds, he looks capable of making the frame again.
15:35 Goodwood - Jm Jungle @ 10/1
Another race with bet365 offering an extra place and last year’s winner, Jm Jungle looks worth supporting at the prices.
He didn’t kick on after last year’s success in this contest but there have been highly encouraging signs on his last couple of starts, beaten just three lengths in the King Charles III at Royal Ascot before a narrow defeat on the Knavesmire last time out.
The return to Goodwood could be the key factor given that he’s two from three at the course and he has plenty of smart form on speed tracks.
Stall 14 could also be an advantage with the pace drawn high and he could be hard to keep out of the first four.
