It’s day three of the Glorious Goodwood Festival on Thursday as the racing continues at the famous West Sussex venue.

Jim and Fitri Hay have more than their fair share of Goodwood winners and they have an intriguing runner that could be a bit overpriced for Thursday’s opener.
LION OF ALBA was highly progressive as a juvenile and came on from his reappearance on the continent to finish a close fourth at Royal Ascot on his penultimate outing.
His form dipped at Newmarket last time out but he raced too close to a hot pace that day and there’s a reasonable chance that he will be capable of resuming his progress.
It’s also worth noting that he has a bit of course form in the book having shaped nicely in a maiden here as a juvenile.
However, the step up to a mile and two furlongs could be the key factor to unlocking improvement. There’s no shortage of stamina in the dam’s side of his pedigree and it looked like further would suit at the Royal meeting.
With bet365 offering an extra place on the race (four instead of three), he makes plenty of each-way appeal.

Backing favourites in handicaps at Glorious Goodwood isn’t always a route to punting success but SHADOW KING has big claims in the nursery on the card.
He looked really promising when making all in good style at Kempton in May and bounced back from a lesser effort when winning a competitive little race at Doncaster last week.
That’s an effort worth marking up having quickened up nicely off a slow pace and there should be even more to come on this step up to seven furlongs.
With a good draw in stall four, a key factor over this course and distance, he could take some stopping on just his fifth career outing.
17:20 Goodwood - Avalon Queen @ 11/1
Experience can count for plenty in maidens, particularly when a good chunk of the field are having their first outing and with two runs under her belt, AVALAON QUEEN could be hard to keep out of the frame.
She shaped with plenty of promise in a competitive Newbury maiden on debut, beaten just three lengths despite going off at odds of 22/1, and that race is working out nicely with the winning taking out a Listed event in the interim.
Avalon Queen then went on to hit the frame in another Newbury contest, an effort worth upgrading with the rider losing an iron at a crucial stage of the race and everything in her pedigree points to her improving over this new trip.
Billy Loughnane now takes over in the saddle and in another race with bet365 paying an extra place, she makes plenty of appeal from an each-way perspective.
