Sunderland v Hull City Prediction: 7/5 Isidor can help dump out the Tigers

Hull City have enjoyed a dream start to life back in the Premier League with seven points and no goals conceded after three games and they turn their focus to the EFL Cup on Tuesday as they head to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland.

Sunderland enjoyed a fantastic 2025/26 campaign, as they secured a spot in Europe, and they appear to be hitting some form heading into this contest with four points from their last two games.

The EFL Cup is not the main priority for either side and that should be reflected in the team selection as both sides are likely to rotate.

Sunderland v Hull City Tips Summary

Best Bet - Sunderland to win @ 7/10
Alternative Bet - Wilson Isidor anytime goalscorer @ 7/5
Bet Builder - Wilson Isidor 2+ shots on target, Jens Hjerto-Dahl 2+ shots & Malick Fofana 1+ shots on target @ 13/2

Sunderland v Hull City

Sunderland v Hull City Prediction

Best Bet: Sunderland to win @ 7/10

Hull City are yet to be beaten this season but they may well see that streak come to an end on Wearside.

Avoiding an immediate return to the Championship is the number one goal for the Tigers this season and they will not be taking anything for granted in the Premier League after three rounds of fixtures, despite their strong start.

Hull made wholesale changes in the previous round of the EFL Cup against Stoke City and should continue with that policy in Sunderland.

Survival will also be Sunderland’s number one goal and they have a European campaign to contend with.

Like Hull, the Black Cats will probably field a weakened team but they have the benefit of home advantage and more strength in depth within their squad, so the hosts can become the first team to beat the Tigers this season.

Alternative Bet: Wilson Isidor anytime goalscorer @ 7/5

Wilson Isidor is yet to start for Sunderland this season but the Haiti international has featured from the bench in all three of their Premier League fixtures and is an obvious candidate to come into the first XI.

Isidor has one goal in the league this season despite featuring for just 75 minutes in total across his three games.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a productive summer with a goal for his country at the World Cup and a pre-season strike for Sunderland against Lens, and he stands out as a contender in the anytime goalscorer market.

Sunderland v Hull City Bet Builder Tip

  • Wilson Isidor 2+ shots on target

  • Jens Hjerto-Dahl 2+ shots

  • Malick Fofana 1+ shots on target

    Pays 13/2

Isidor is averaging a hefty 3.6 shots per 90 minutes in his limited game time in the Premier League, with 2.4 per game on target.

The Sunderland forward can record two shots on target and new team-mate Malick Fofana can manage at least one.

Fofana, a summer arrival from French outfit Lyon, made his debut as a substitute in the draw with Brentford on Saturday and is expected to be handed a start.

The Belgian will be eager to make his mark and he can force at least one save.

Hull signed midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl from Tromso over the summer and he made his first Premier League appearance of the campaign as a late substitute in the draw with Aston Villa at the weekend.

Hjerto-Dahl started in the EFL Cup against Stoke, managing two shots in 59 minutes, and he can get away at least two efforts against Sunderland.
