Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder says he is "obviously delighted" after signing a contract extension running until the summer of 2028.
Wilder returned to the Bramall Lane dugout for a third time in September 2025, putting pen-to-paper on terms until the end of the 2026/27 season after replacing the sacked Ruben Selles.
The English tactician managed to steer the Blades away from relegation trouble as they finished 13th in the Championship, and all the efforts for the upcoming campaign will be to achieve promotion.
Wilder has now agreed a contract extension that has tied him down until the summer of 2028 and he insists preparations are well under way for the new season.
He told the club's official website: "I'm obviously delighted, and grateful for the support of everyone at the club. Anyone who knows me will tell you that my ambition and determination to succeed at this football club is still as strong as ever.
"We're working hard behind the scenes to get everything ready for the season ahead and we'll be pushing hard to make this campaign - and future campaigns - successful for Sheffield United."
In Wilder's first spell in charge of the Blades from 2016-2021, he helped them win the League One title and finish second in the 2018/19 Championship to earn a spot in the Premier League.
A ninth-place finish in England's top-flight earned the Englishman huge plaudits, although he failed to maintain those levels in the next campaign and he left in March 2021 with the club bottom of the table.
Wilder returned to the dugout in December 2023, replacing Paul Heckingbottom, but he was unable to stop the club suffering relegation from the Premier League.
After suffering a play-off final loss in the 2024/25 season, Wilder's contract was terminated in June that year, only for him to then be reappointed just three months later.
Ahead of the upcoming campaign, the Blades are 9/2 to be promoted to the Premier League, 7/1 for a top-two finish, and 14/1 to win the Championship for the first time.
United are working hard to bring in reinforcements and they have been linked with a number of players in recent days, with Rabbi Matondo reportedly a transfer target.
It is also believed the Blades are leading the race to sign Rangers defender John Souttar, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at Ibrox following the arrival of new manager Derek McInnes.
Meanwhile, United striker Ryan One has been attracting interest, with Leicester City and the Gers rumoured to be keeping tabs on his situation, but the Steel City outfit are not wanting to sell.
United kick off the new Championship campaign with a home clash against Birmingham City on 15th August and the hosts are 7/5 to clinch all three points, with the draw priced at 11/5 and Blues 7/4 to claim the spoils.
Trips to Swansea City and Cardiff City round off the league fixtures in August for the Blades, who will be hoping for a solid start in their bid to return to the Premier League.
