Peru and Spain face off at the Cuauhtémoc Stadium in Mexico in what will be the final World Cup warm up game for the World Cup favourites.
Rather surprisingly, Spain could only draw with fellow World Cup qualifiers Iraq last time out.
Ferran Torres opened the scoring after just 16 minutes, but Merchas Doski levelled just 11 minutes later and the Lions of Mesopotamia ultimately held on for a 1-1 draw, despite losing the shot count 13-3.
Peru missed out on qualifying for the tournament this summer, but did defeat Haiti 2-1 a few days ago for their first victory of 2026 and only their second win in their last 12 games.
Best Bet - Over 2.5 goals @ 4/7
Alternative Bet- Mikel Oyarzabal to score anytime @ 8/11
Bet Builder - Spain to win, Both teams to score & Jairo Velez 1+ shot on target @ 9/1
Best Bet: Over 2.5 goals @ 4/7
Despite taking an early lead against Iraq, Spain couldn’t press home their advantage, failing to add to their tally.
Luis de la Fuente did rotate heavily for that clash, however, resting the likes of Nico Williams, Mikel Oyarzabal, Pedri, Martin Zubimendi and Rodri.
As such, a host of players made their debuts for the national side, but the manager will likely bring plenty of experienced heads back in for this final warm-up game.
Four of Peru’s last seven matches have featured three or more goals being scored. Neither of Spain’s last two games would have seen this bet land, but the four matches prior all produced three or more goals.
Considering that and with Peru perhaps looking to impress with nothing to lose, this match should feature plenty of goals.
Alternative Bet: Mikel Oyarzabal to score anytime @ 8/11
Oyarzabal was one of the many rested for the friendly against Iraq, but he should be brought back into the fold against Peru.
The Spaniard enjoyed an excellent season at club level, scoring 18 times for Real Sociedad, helping them win the Copa del Rey in the process.
He was superb during the qualifiers, notching six goals and four assists across six games. Overall, Oyarzabal has scored 24 goals in 52 international appearances and is arguably Spain’s main centre-forward.
The 29-year-old scored a first-half brace against Serbia on his last appearance for La Roja to demonstrate his importance to the side, and De La Fuente will surely give him plenty of game-time in this final warm-up game. He can show his worth once again.
Back-to-back draws against Egypt and Iraq will not be too much of a concern for De La Fuente, but a victory against Peru will be the best possible preparation for the World Cup.
Peru have lost just one of their last four matches, 2-0 against Senegal, but their World Cup qualification bid was dreadful to say the least and La Roja should have too much quality in the end.
Across 18 matches, the Peruvians won just twice and scored a paltry six goals, the worst attacking record out of all 10 teams.
Head coach Mano Menezes might take inspiration from Iraq, though, and with nothing to lose, he may be a whole lot more adventurous.
Five of Peru’s last seven games ended with both teams scoring, while two of Spain’s last four games featured both teams finding the back of the net.
One player the Spanish backline will have to keep an eye out for is Jairo Velez. The attacking midfielder only made his debut in March, but has scored three goals in his last two international games.
He could be lively once again so backing him to register at least one shot on target offers plenty of value.
