Manchester City v Ipswich Town Prediction: 8/5 Ndiaye to make big impact for City

It's six wins from six in the Premier League for Manchester City, but they will need to bounce back from midweek European disappointment when they welcome in Ipswich Town.

Enzo Maresca's men fell to a 4-2 home defeat to reigning UEFA Champions League holders PSG on Wednesday night.

They are back on home turf on Saturday afternoon, when they play host to a Town side who have collected nine points from their opening six matches back in the top-flight.

Manchester City v Ipswich Town Prediction

Best Bet: Iliman Ndiaye anytime goalscorer @ 8/5

There were some eyebrows raised when City paid out £60 million to Everton to sign Iliman Ndiaye this summer.

With the likes of Antoine Semenyo, Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki and Phil Foden already in their ranks, there were question marks as to how much game time Ndiaye would get.

The Senegal international, though, has made a big impact so far this season, starting in five of their first six league games.

Ndiaye is still looking for his first goal for his new club, but it looks like a matter of time before he finds the net and Saturday looks like a good chance to end the wait.

The 26-year-old scored in Everton's 2-0 win at Ipswich two seasons ago and, having made a big impact off the back in midweek, expect Ndiaye to start against the Tractor Boys.

After coming off the bench at half-time against PSG, the City number seven had four shots and two of those were on target.

Alternative Bet: Over 3.5 goals @ 10/11

Ipswich have surprised many onlookers so far since their promotion back to the Premier League, with Gary O'Neil's men currently sat inside the top half of the table.

Only Chelsea in the top-10, though, have conceded more goals than Town, who have averaged two goals per game to date.

They now head to the Etihad, with the hosts having scoring 16 times in their first six Premier League games - netting five in their most recent home league fixture against Sunderland.

The recent head-to-head stats don't make for good reading for Ipswich fans and backers, with two heavy defeats to City in their last top-flight campaign in 2024/25.

Under Pep Guardiola, the Citizens won 4-1 in the home fixture before securing a 6-0 success in the reverse fixture at Portman Road.

Semenyo scored 17 league goals for Bournemouth and City last season and already has two league strikes to his name this term.

The 26-year-old has also racked up three assists, with two of those coming at the Etihad against Coventry and Sunderland.

Nobody has committed more fouls than Ipswich midfielder Sasa Lukic so far this season, with the Serbian penalised 14 times.

On Saturday, Lukic will come up against the player who has been fouled the most in the top-flight in England international Elliot Anderson (20).

There is not much separating the two sides in the shots stats across their first six games, with City having 60 efforts compared to Ipswich's 57. The league leaders have averaged 10 shots per game, with 9.5 per match for Ipswich.
