Manchester United are in the Premier League relegation zone heading into the international break despite rescuing a 4-4 draw at home to Aston Villa.
The visitors raced into a two-goal lead inside four minutes at Old Trafford, with Alysson and Nicolas Jackson silencing the home crowd.
Bruno Fernandes halved the deficit with a penalty in the 18th minute, before United drew level on the stroke of half-time courtesy of a goal from former Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans.
Unai Emery's side retook the lead shortly after the restart through a John McGinn penalty and it was soon 4-2 as German midfielder Leon Goretzka stabbed home from close range.
Substitute Joshua Zirkzee pulled one back in the second minute of injury time, before Patrick Dorgu nodded in from a Bruno Fernandes in the final seconds as the hosts snatched a point.
The result leaves United without a league win in eight matches and they are 18th in the Premier League table after their opening ten games of the season.
Meanwhile, Villa are now up to tenth despite twice throwing away a two-goal lead.
