Lecce welcome Roma to Via del Mare on Monday evening with both teams looking to maintain a perfect start, having enjoyed opening Serie A wins without conceding.
Lecce secured a comfortable 2-0 win at Venezia last weekend in what was a perfect start to the season, having only narrowly survived last term.
Expectations are likely higher for Roma and they started impressively by thrashing Fiorentina 4-0 at the Stadio Olimpico which they will hope sets the tone for the rest of the season.
The Giallorossi finished third in Serie A last term, perhaps unable to finish higher due to their away form, losing eight times on the road, and they will be desperate to do improve that this time around.
Best Bet - Donyell Malen to score anytime @ 5/6
Alternative Bet - Roma to win to nil @ 6/5
Bet Builder - Over 2 goals, Paolo Dybala to score or assist & Danilo Veiga to be booked @ 14/1
Best Bet: Donyell Malen to score @ 5/6
Despite spending just the second half of last season on loan at Roma, Donyell Malen was arguably one of the signings of the campaign.
Across 18 Serie A matches, Malen scored an incredible 14 goals to fire his club to a third-place finish.
His loan spell became a permanent one for a fee of around £22m and that could turn out to become a stunning bargain, especially considering how he has begun the new season.
Against La Viola, Malen scored three times in what was a superb display. He will be eyeing more goals on the trip to Lecce, having netted eight away goals for Roma last season, and he is likely to be the focal point of the Giallorossi's offensive play.
Alternative Bet: Roma to win to nil @ 6/5
Roma may have only scored 59 goals in Serie A last season, 30 fewer than champions Inter Milan, but their defence was outstanding.
Gasperini's side boasted the second-best defensive record in Serie A last season, conceding just 31 goals, with only Como letting in fewer.
Roma kept 18 clean sheets in their 38 league matches with two of those coming against Lecce.
Gasperini steered Roma to a 1-0 victory over the Wolves at home and a 2-0 success at the Stadio Via del Mare and given how impressively they have begun the current campaign, it would not be a surprise to see the visitors keep another clean sheet in a routine victory.
Roma scored four goals in a single game just once throughout the 2025/26 league season, but it looks as though Gasperini is wanting his side to become more clinical in the final third.
So far so good. That 4-0 win over Fiorentina will certainly bolster confidence heading into this clash, especially given Roma's recent record against these opponents.
Paolo Dybala was outstanding against Fiorentina. He didn't get on the scoresheet, but did provide three assists and created three big chances while registering four shots.
In eight previous games against Lecce, Dybala has scored four times and assisted two more goals. Back him to contribute once again on Monday.
Lecce are likely to be under pressure for long periods and that could lead to a card or two. Danilo Veiga is no stranger to the referee's notebook, having been given nine yellow cards last season including one against Roma.
He has already been booked this season and if Roma put in a similarly rampant performance to the one against Fiorentina, he could find himself in trouble again.
