Everton look set for a busy end to the summer transfer window, with the Merseyside outfit thought to be pushing for a deal to sign USA striker Folarin Balogun.
There are expected to be a number of incomings and outgoings at the Hill Dickinson Stadium before Tuesday's transfer deadline.
While Toffees' striker Beto is believed to be on the verge of a return to Serie A to join Fiorentina, Everton are eager to bring in attacking reinforcements.
Former Toffee Richarlison has also been strongly linked with a return to the club as he wants out of Tottenham Hotspur, however, there still appears to be some way to go if that deal is to get over the line.
Everton appear to fancy Monaco star Balogun and noises coming from the Ligue 1 outfit also suggest a move to the Premier League for the American could be completed before the Tuesday deadline.
Monaco chief admits to talks
Monaco chief executive Thiago Scuro has publicly revealed that talks are taking place regarding Balogun's future and that a move away from the Principality outfit could be close.
He confirmed: "Yes, it is true that discussions are taking place regarding Balogun. That is also why we have already signed [Matthis] Abline. We are ready to maintain the quality of the team if Balogun leaves, but we should know more very soon."
The fact that Abline has already joined Monaco from Nantes bodes well for Everton in their pursuit of Balogun, who was the standout player for the USA at the 2026 World Cup with three goals in the competition.
Beto set to make way
Beto has been given permission to speak with Fiorentina and a return to Italy looks imminent for the former Udinese striker.
With less than 12 months left on his current deal at Everton, the Merseyside outfit seem content in allowing the Guinea-Bissau international to begin a new chapter of his career in Florence.
A fee is unlikely to be high for the 28-year-old considering he would be available on a free next summer, but Everton can get some sort of return on the reported £25.8million they spent on signing Beto from Udinese back in 2023.
Personal terms could prove sticking point for Richarlison
While reports have suggested Richarlison could be on the verge of a shock return to Everton, there have been claims that personal terms might be an issue.
Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi revealed the Brazilian forward wants out of Tottenham and quickly links with a return to Everton emerged.
The fact Everton are pressing ahead with a move for fellow forward Balogun might suggest Richarlison could be heading elsewhere before the end of the summer transfer window.
