India v Brazil Prediction: 2/1 both teams can strike in mismatch friendly

India face their biggest test for decades on Saturday afternoon at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata as they take on South American giants Brazil in an international friendly.

The Blue Tigers have never faced a team ranked as high as Brazil since FIFA’s world rankings were introduced in 1992, with the Selecao currently sitting as the No. 6 team and the hosts ranked 138.

This clash may be a friendly but unsurprisingly it is being billed as one of the biggest games in India’s football history.

Anything other than a comprehensive win for the visitors would go down as a monumental shock and that is reflected in the prices.

India are 50/1 to win and Brazil are the 1/66 favourites. The hosts can be backed at 20/1 to win or draw in the double chance market.

India v Brazil

India v Brazil Prediction

Best Bet: Both teams to score @ 2/1

India’s chances of getting a positive result are extremely low, but they may at least be able to give the home fans something to cheer about by getting on the scoresheet.

If this were a competitive game then a huge Brazil win and a clean sheet would be the expected outcome, but there is an obvious difference in motivation here.

For Brazil, this is an away friendly clash against a side ranked outside of the top 100. For India, this game is being marketed as one of the biggest events in their nation’s sporting history and a chance for one of their players to go down in football folklore by scoring.

In terms of the stats, goals at both ends doesn’t seem that far-fetched either. Both teams have scored in 10 of Brazil’s last 12 games and they conceded three goals across two matches with Australia in their first two fixtures of this international break.

Both teams have scored in India’s last three games and they have netted in eight of their last 11 internationals, a run they can extend on Saturday.

Alternative Bet: Ryan Williams to score @ 14/1

There are a plethora of goalscorer options for Brazil but with an India goal predicted the value is with the home players and one jumps out as the best option - Ryan Williams.

Williams, 32, is a former Australia international who switched allegiances at the end of 2025 and so far he has two goals in three games for India.

The former Rotherham United, Portsmouth and Perth Glory winger is one of the few players in the India squad to have experienced European football and he is their most experienced squad member by some distance.

At 14/1 he appeals as an outside contender for an anytime effort.

India v Brazil Bet Builder Tip

  • Vinicius Jr to score

  • Endrick to score

  • Estevao to score

  • Brazil over 5 team goals

  • Brazil to win both halves

    Pays 49/10

Our main and alternative bets focus on potential India successes and value options but this five-legged bet builder is all about Brazilian dominance.

Star man Vinicius Jr is expected to be supported by rising stars Endrick and Estevao in attack and all three look capable of scoring.

Vinicius Jr scored against Australia earlier this week, Endrick had five goals in 17 games for Lyon in Ligue 1 last season and Estevao will be keen to make an impact after struggling for game time at Chelsea.

The trio are all used to facing a far higher standard of defence and may be able to carve this India side apart.

Carlo Ancelotti’s visitors put four past Australia in their second meeting with the Socceroos and hit six against Panama at the World Cup. They are capable of scoring heavily and can reach six goals, and they are strong enough to convincingly win both halves.
