England v Ghana World Cup Prediction: 4/6 Three Lions to double up in style

England were good value for their 4-2 victory over Croatia on matchday one and James Milton has picked out his best bets for Tuesday's Group L clash with Ghana.

Harry Kane scored twice for England against Croatia before second-half goals from Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford wrapped up the points.

The Three Lions' performance saw them cut for World Cup glory and they are hot favourites to beat Ghana, who needed a 95th-minute goal to edge past Panama 1-0 in their opener.

England v Ghana Prediction

Best Bet: England to win & over 2.5 goals @ 4/6

England produced one of the most eye-catching displays on matchday one of the World Cup group stage, beating a decent Croatia side 4-2 in Arlington.

The Three Lions should have been even more convincing winners as they had 11 shots on target and forced Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic into some terrific saves.

England's perfect qualifying campaign included 5-0 away wins over Serbia and Latvia and they should be backed to defeat Ghana in a game featuring over 2.5 goals.

Thomas Tuchel's starting line-up gelled nicely with Declan Rice and Elliot Anderson starring in central midfield.

Harry Kane, who scored hat-tricks in his last two games for Bayern Munich in 2025/26, showed no sign of fatigue and two of Tuchel's substitutes, Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford, combined for England's fourth goal.

Ghana have some talented attackers including Manchester City's Antoine Semenyo, Athletic Bilbao's Inaki Williams and Coventry's Brandon Thomas-Asante, who set up their injury-time winner against Panama.

But they came into the tournament on a run of five defeats in six matches including March's 5-1 loss to Austria.

Ghana followed up that rout by losing 2-1 to Germany and 2-0 against World Cup co-hosts Mexico and it is hard to see their defence keeping England quiet.

The Three Lions had nine shots on target in their final pre-tournament friendly, a 3-0 win over Costa Rica, and they were even more impressive against Croatia.

Their second goal, a powerful Kane header from Declan Rice's corner, underlined their threat from set-pieces and another comprehensive victory is on the cards in Foxborough.

Alternative Bet: Jerome Opoku to be booked @ 21/10

Ghana centre-back Jerome Opoku suffered a knock in this month's friendly draw with Wales in Cardiff, meaning that he was a doubt for the World Cup opener against Panama.

Opoku was able to play the entire match but his fitness and discipline will be tested by a free-scoring England attacking unit.

The Londoner came through the youth system at Fulham before establishing himself at Istanbul Basaksehir.

However, Opoku has been shown 23 yellow cards and two reds during his three seasons in the Turkish Super Lig and he may struggle to stay out of trouble on Tuesday.

England v Ghana Bet Builder Tip

  • Jude Bellingham to score
  • Gideon Mensah to be booked
  • Anthony Gordon 1+ shot

    10/1

Only Kane had more shots than Jude Bellingham in England's opener and the Real Madrid star should be backed to follow up his classy goal against Croatia.

Ghana left-back Gideon Mensah was booked eight times in 26 Ligue 1 starts for Auxerre and he faces a difficult night against England wingers Noni Madueke and Saka.

Anthony Gordon averaged 1.8 shots per 90 minutes for Newcastle in the Premier League and 2.2 in the UEFA Champions League.

He scored in England's final warm-up game against Costa Rica and had two attempts at the Croatia goal on matchday one.
