The League One play-off final takes place on Sunday afternoon as Bolton Wanderers face Stockport County at Wembley for a place in the Championship.
Bolton haven't played in the Championship since the 2018/19 campaign, even spending a season in League Two and the former Premier League stalwarts finished fifth in the table, sneaking into the play-offs by a single point.
Stockport ended the League One regular season in third place, albeit 14 points behind Cardiff City in second.
The Hatters last featured in the second tier during the 2001/02 campaign and will be hoping to end that exile at the National Stadium on Sunday.
Best Bet - Both teams to score @ 4/5
Alternative Bet - Mason Burstow to score anytime @ 13/8
Bet Builder - Stockport to win, Amario Cozier-Duberry 1+ shot on target and Kyle Wootton 1+ shot on target @ 11/2
Best Bet: Both teams to score @ 4/5
Both teams scored in the previous meeting between these two teams as the game finished 2-2.
Four of Bolton's last six games have ended with both teams finding the back of the net, while this same bet would have landed in four of Stockport's last seven domestic games.
Across the entire League One season, both teams scored in 63% of the Trotters' matches. For the Hatters, 61% of their 46 league matches saw both teams scoring.
Although play-off finals tend to be cagey affairs, there could be plenty of chances in this one so expect both teams to score at least once at Wembley.
Alternative Bet: Mason Burstow to score anytime @ 13/8
Mason Burstow is Bolton’s joint-top scorer this season along with Sam Dalby, netting 12 goals in League One.
He began the campaign by scoring seven times in the opening 11 games, before enduring a drought in front of goal.
Since January 24th, Burstow has added another five goals, while also chipping in with three assists.
A few weeks ago, it looked as though on-loan striker Johnny Kenny would be the man to spearhead Bolton to glory. His stay, however, ended prematurely due to injury.
As such, Burstow will be the man tasked with leading Wanderers back into the second tier, so expect him to be lively at Wembley.
Stockport County to win
Amario Cozier-Duberry 1+ shot on target
Kyle Wootton 1+ shot on target
Pays 11/2
This is going to be an evenly matched game, with the teams separated by only two points in the League One table.
Although the last match between the clubs finished 2-2, County had won the three previous matches leading up to that encounter.
The last time Bolton won against the Hatters came in November 2023 in a Football League Trophy tie and the recent record could perhaps give Stockport the psychological edge at Wembley on Sunday.
Bolton will be looking for right-winger Amario Cozier-Duberry to provide the spark at the National Stadium. He has registered 22 goal contributions this season, including 10 goals, indicating that he will be a big threat.
Throughout the League One season, Cozier-Duberry averaged 0.9 shots on target per game and with Kenny absent, the former Arsenal starlet will be hoping to depart a hero.
Stockport, on the other hand, will hope Kyle Wootton can be their own Wembley hero this weekend.
He scored 19 goals across 46 league matches, adding another in the play-off semi-finals, while averaging 0.9 shots on target per game with a 22% goal conversion rate.
Furthermore, the 29-year-old scored in the 2-0 win over Bolton back in August.
