16 total sport disciplines will be on display between 6th to 22nd February at the 2026 Winter Olympics, including a new addition in the form of ski mountaineering.
Alongside the introduction of ski mountaineering will be a number of new medal events, and we've provided a full list below.
2026 marks the Olympic debut for Ski Mountaineering, otherwise known as 'skimo', combining uphill mountain climbing with downhill skiing.
The new sport will feature three different events in Italy, including a women's sprint, men's sprint and mixed relay.
The traditional open doubles luge had only included male competitors since making it's debut in 1964, but the 2026 Winter Olympics will feature a women's doubles event.
An entertaining sport for those who are familiar, Germany have dominated the luge scene in all of the last seven games.
Men's large hill ski jumping has been present at the Winter Olympics since the inaugural games in 1924, but we've never seen it feature in the women's events.
That is set to change this time round, with the women's large hill event set to make it's debut.
The introduction of the skeleton mixed team relay will see one woman and one man, of the same nation, complete back-to-back runs, combining their times for a final score.
Of course, the team with the lowest total time will emerge victorious and claim gold.
Dual moguls have been added to freestyle skiing at the 2026 Winter Olympics, an event that will see two skiers simultaneously competing against one another in runs down neighbouring mogul courses.
The winners will be decided by a panel of seven judges (four for turns, two for air and one for time) who cast 5 total votes, which they can split between the skiers. The skier with the most judges on their side wins and advances to the next round.
The alpine skiing team combined event will see two competitors, of the same nation, assigned to respective downhill and slalom runs, with the aim to finish their course in the fastest time possible.
The duo with the fastest cumulative time will emerge victorious.
