Manchester City fans face a nervous wait to see if Erling Haaland will be fit to return for their huge Premier League clash against Liverpool on Sunday.
Haaland played 67 minutes during Norway's 2-1 Nations League loss to Portugal on Sunday night and was seen limping before being replaced by Crystal Palace striker Jorgen Strand Larsen while the game was level at 1-1.
The 26-year-old wasn't moving completely freely before gesturing to the bench that he wanted to be substituted.
Despite Francisco Conceicao seeing red late on, Norway were consigned to a third consecutive loss after Milan forward Goncalo Ramos put Portugal ahead in the 79th minute.
City fans will be hopeful that Haaland will be fit enough to feature in their weekend trip to Anfield after Norway manager Stale Solbakken put his withdrawal down to fatigue as oppose to injury.
“It’s not just him [Haaland], there’s a whole bunch leaving now. They've been given a few days off from their clubs. They’ve booked a private plane that you and I can’t afford..." Solbakken said in his post-match press conference.
Haaland is one of several fitness concerns for City boss Enzo Maresca to contend with heading into Sunday's game against Liverpool.
Nico O'Reilly sustained a knock in training after featuring in England's Nations League loss against Spain, while Ghana's Semenyo was allowed to join back up with his club to manage a leg injury.
Maresca will also be without Phil Foden through suspension and is expected to provide fitness updates during a pre-match press conference on Friday.
The Citizens sit top of the Premier League after winning each of their opening five matches and are 6/4 to beat the Reds on Merseyside this coming weekend.
