Wayne Rooney has suggested Manchester City should be stripped of their titles amidst reports the club will be found guilty of 114 of the 115 charges levelled at them by the Premier League.
A verdict is still to be officially announced by the Premier League, but it's believed the club will be found guilty of the vast majority of charges, with recent reports suggesting they found out as early as the summer.
Since the announcement of the verdict, countless punishments have been suggested by various parties, including points deductions, expulsion from the Premier League and trophies being stripped.
Speaking on the Stick to United podcast, Rooney was open to the idea of City having titles removed, but stopped short of saying he feels entitled to another medal.
"Should they get it stripped from them for what the owners have done? Maybe," said Rooney. "But I wouldn't feel comfortable accepting [a winner's medal].
"I have heard Rio [Ferdinand] has come out saying about getting another Premier League medal. I wouldn't really feel comfortable accepting another Premier League medal, if I'm being honest.
"I don't think we deserve it, we didn't do enough that season to win the league. I think we were six or seven points clear with four or five games to go and we threw it away.
"I've seen everything that has come out over the past few days and listening to people and I was putting myself in a Man City player's shoes. They are there, doing everything to win a Premier League title and in their minds, they have done it, they have won the Premier League title.
"If that happened to me, if all of a sudden Manchester United had been doing the same and my Premier League medaI had been taken away from me, I would be absolutely devastated."
The Premier League are keeping their counsel, not yet confirming the verdict, though it's expected City would appeal when the announcement comes.
