With England set to face Norway in the World Cup quarter-finals, we've taken a look at their head-to-head record against the Scandinavian outfit.
What could so easily have been a Brazil v Mexico quarter-final saw the Selecao eliminated with the co-hosts also beaten, with Norway running out 2-1 winners and England just about holding on to a 3-2 lead despite being reduced to 10 men.
While it's a far from stellar Brazil outfit, Carlo Ancelotti's side would likely have posed more of a threat than Norway who, despite their attacking prowess, have been extremely open at the back throughout the tournament.
Norway progressed through the group stage with a game to spare, allowing them to rest their star names against France and going fresh for the games with Ivory Coast and Brazil.
While England are extremely used to playing Scandinavian sides at major tournaments, that's been limited to Denmark and Sweden, playing the pair a combined seven times since the 2002 World Cup.
England have never played Norway at a major tournament, but did face them in World Cup qualifying for the 1982 and 1994 editions.
Interestingly, England failed to win their three most recent competitive games against Norway, with the latter two going some way to costing Graham Taylor his job.
However, England's last outing against Norway came on 3rd September 2013, when Roy Hodgson's England ran out 1-0 winners at Wembley thanks to a Wayne Rooney penalty.
Although they've met four times in qualifying, England and Norway have never met at the World Cup Finals.
