West Ham United Championship title & promotion odds: Hammers move to the summit following 6-0 Wrexham win
West Ham United are favourites to win the Championship after propelling themselves to the summit of the league table for the first time this season.
The Hammers edged themselves above early pacesetters West Bromwich Albion courtesy of a thumping 6-0 victory over Wrexham at the London Stadium on Friday night.
The triumph -- which is West Ham's fourth in succession in the league -- means they now sit one point and one spot above the Baggies, although Ryan Mason's men have the chance to move back top when they host Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side were the heavy pre-season promotion favourites after dropping out of the Premier League for the first time in 14 years back in May.
It was always expected that their stay back in the second tier would be short lived, even more so now that they have found their groove following a somewhat troublesome start to the campaign.
The Londoners notched up just two points from their opening three Championship fixtures, but after recording their first three point haul against Wolverhampton Wanderers last month, they haven't looked back.
Subsequent triumphs over Derby County and Bolton Wanderers, games in which they netted three times in each, have been followed up with an even more resounding success over Wrexham with their odds of winning the league title shortening in the process.
West Ham are now 11/8 to seal top spot come next May, whilst they are as short as 1/4 to win promotion by any means.
