Jacob Bethell will open the batting for England in Tuesday's series-opening ODI against India at Edgbaston.
It's a change of format for the two sides after their five-match T20I series ended with a resounding 4-0 victory for England.
Bethell, 22, moves up to join Ben Duckett at the very top of the order with the hosts abandoning the Rehan Ahmed experiment they trialled in their most recent ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Ahmed was selected to replace Zak Crawley but misses out altogether in Birmingham.
Head coach Brendon McCullum only has the white-ball teams to consider now after being relieved of his Test match duties and will be keen to get more consistent performances out of the One-Day side.
Results have been mixed over the last 12 months or so, winning against the West Indies before suffering back-to-back series losses against South Africa and New Zealand to close out 2025. However, McCullum's side did get back on track with victory away in Sri Lanka at the beginning of the year.
Tuesday's game represents a landmark game for England legend Jos Buttler, who is set to make his 200th ODI appearance, more than 14 years on from making his debut against Pakistan in February, 2012.
The wicket-keeper batter will slot in at five, just above skipper Harry Brook at four and England's all-time leading run-scorer Joe Root.
A trio of Will Jacks, Liam Dawson and Adil Rashid will ensure that England are not short of slow bowling options whilst Sam Curran, Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue will be hoping to pick up from where they left off in the recent T20 series after finishing in a three-way tie for leading wicket-taker.
