Doncaster Rovers, Chesterfield and Port Vale are attempting to secure a loan deal for Everton youngster Aled Thomas.
The 19-year-old defender featured 28 times in all competitions for Everton's Under 21 team last season.
He made 19 appearances in Premier League 2 and also featured in both the EFL Trophy and the National League Cup.
Thomas is a left-footed centre-back who has progressed considerably in the last 12 months and his next move looks likely to be in the form of regular football in the EFL.
The Welsh Under-21 international is in the final year of his current contract and journalist Pete O'Rourke has reported that Doncaster, Chesterfield and Port Vale are looking to obtain his signature.
Out of the trio of teams who are reportedly interested, Doncaster are the only side playing at League One level.
Doncaster shook off a difficult star to finish 14th last season and they will be looking to push on towards the play-offs.
Meanwhile, Port Vale and Chesterfield will both be playing in League Two next season.
Both sides will be targeting promotion after Port Vale were relegated from League One, while Chesterfield suffered defeat in the League Two play-offs.
The potential capture of Thomas could be an important piece of the jigsaw as both sides look to challenge at the top of the fourth-tier.
