We've taken a look at the defenders to have scored the most goals in the Spanish top flight since the turn of the millennium.
While it remains to be seen if Sergio Ramos will play professional football again after he departed Mexican side Monterrey as a free agent in December, his goalscoring record as a defender will stand the test of time.
Between 2004 and 2024 Ramos made more than 500 appearances in La Liga, and won the competition five times - all with Real Madrid.
While his ability on the ball and physicality made him one of Europe's elite defenders during that period, it was his knack for finding the net that set him apart from his contemporaries.
In Ramos' penultimate campaign with Los Blancos, he netted 11 goals from 35 starts as Zinedine Zidane guided Real to league title success, with his tally enough to see him second only to Karim Benzema in the club's scoring charts that season.
In all, Ramos netted 77 times in the Spanish top flight, putting him top of our list of goalscoring defenders.
But who joins him there? Read on to find out.
