As England prepare for their round of 32 fixture against DR Congo on Wednesday, we've taken a look at which players have made the most appearances for the Three Lions at the World Cup finals since 1990.
Thomas Tuchel's side have made a positive start to the tournament and topped Group L after wins over Croatia and Panama and a draw with Ghana.
Despite only making his senior England debut in November, Nico O'Reilly has emerged as Tuchel's first-choice option on the left side of defence, and the Manchester City starlet has impressed so far.
While O'Reilly is no doubt a major talent - he has a long way to go to matching the achievement of Ashley Cole, who served as England's undisputed No 1 in the position for over a decade, and was widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in the world.
Prior to this summer's tournament Cole also held the distinction of having played the most games for England at the World Cup in the modern era with 14.
In fact, in each of the three World Cups that Cole featured for the Three Lions (2002, 2006, 2010), he started every single game - only being substituted off twice in his maiden tournament.
Joining Cole on the list are some of the most iconic names to feature for England over the last three decades, including Sir David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney.
