From the fastest centuries to the lowest international totals, we take a look at some of the remarkable records in cricket history.
Sachin Tendulkar became the first player to notch 100 international centuries and he heads the list for Test cricket.
Tendulkar did hold the record for the most ODI hundreds until he was overtaken by compatriot Virat Kohli at the 2023 World Cup.
Most centuries in Men's international cricket
A rather unwanted record, New Zealand recorded the lowest score in Test history when they were skittled by England for just 26 in 1955.
It was a record that came close to being broke by West Indies in 2025 when Australia restricted them to just 27 in Kingston.
Lowest innings totals in international cricket
Sri Lanka amassed an incredible 952/6d when India visited Colombo in 1997.
Sanath Jayasuriya scored 340, partnered by Roshan Mahanama who himself managed 225. The 576 partnership between the two remains the second-highest stand in Test history.
Highest team totals in international cricket
Leading the way in both Test (800) and ODIs (534) is legendary off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.
Murali was at the forefront of Sri Lankan cricket for two decades, representing his country at five World Cups, winning the tournament in 1996.
Most wickets in international cricket
Current England coach and former New Zealand batter Brendon McCullum struck the fastest century in the history of Men's cricket.
The brains behind England's current 'Bazball' approach, McCullum blasted a 56-ball hundred against Australia in 2016.
Fastest centuries in Men's cricket history
As previously mentioned, Roshan Mahanama & Sanath Jayasuriya's extraordinary stand of 576 comes in at second and it's a list dominated by Sri Lankan's as Kumar Sangakkara & Mahela Jayawardene lead the way after combining for 624 against South Africa in 2006.
The duo strolled to the crease at 14/2 but soon flipped the game on its head.
Sangakkara was dismissed for 287, leaving Jayawardene to pile the runs on, eventually being dismissed by Andre Nel for 374.
Highest partnership for any wicket in Test cricket
Both the record for the highest first-class score and the highest Test score belong to one man - Brian Lara.
The great West Indian bludgeoned an amazing 400* against England in 2004.
It was a record that came under threat recently, however, when Wiaan Mulder declared on 367* against Zimbabwe in July 2025.
