Surrey are once again antepost favourites to win the T20 Blast but they have not won this competition since its inaugural 2003 edition, despite reaching finals’ day in two of the last three seasons.
They play the second game of their campaign against Middlesex, who have struggled in this competition recently and lost their opener to Kent.
Best Bet - Tom Curran over 34.5 performance points @ 5/6
Alternative Bet - Tom Helm top Middlesex bowler @ 10/3
Bet Builder - Surrey to win, Jason Roy top Surrey batter, Reece Topley 2+ wickets @ 17/2
Best Bet: Tom Curran over 34.5 performance points @ 5/6
Tom Curran’s unbeaten 49 was crucial to Surrey’s 59-run victory over Lancashire in their opening game of the T20 Blast season and he is fancied to play a big part in this second match against Middlesex.
The older Curran brother also chipped in with a wicket in that game so can produce with both bat and ball and his line of 34.5 performance points looks low.
The veteran all-rounder has 2,581 T20 runs throughout his career at an average of 21.87 and 272 wickets at an economy of 8.83. He is fancied to go over 34.5 performance points at Lord’s.
Alternative Bet: Tom Helm top Middlesex bowler @ 10/3
Tom Helm was Middlesex’s leading bowler in the T20 Blast last season, taking 20 wickets in 13 matches, a tally only 11 bowlers in the competition could beat.
He started this season with another scalp in his team’s loss to Kent and looks a solid favourite to be Middlesex’s top bowler in this clash.
Surrey have won six of the last seven meetings between these two teams and are fancied to get the better of a Middlesex side who tend to struggle in this competition.
Jason Roy is one of the best T20 batters of all time and he can build on his 45 last time out, by top-scoring for Surrey on Sunday.
Reece Topley has struggled with injury recently but looked back to his best with two wickets against Lancashire last time out and he can take two more scalps in his favoured format.
