Manchester United travel to the Giuseppe Sinigaglia where they face Como in the UEFA Champions League.
Cesc Fabregas' side are on a steep upwards trajectory, only returning to Serie A in 2024/25 before earning qualification into Europe's premier footballing competition for the very first time in their history just one season later.
Victory in four straight Serie A matches has seen them rise to fifth in the league, but they did taste defeat last time out in the Champions League. Goals from Assane Diao and Anastasios Douvikas could not prevent a 3-2 loss to Dutch giants Feyenoord away from home.
Following a run of six matches without a win, Michael Carrick is in desperate need of a positive result. Three consecutive 1-1 draws in the Premier League has seen the Red Devils slip to 13th in the table and comprehensive defeat against Atleti led to further turmoil as Lisandro Martinez aimed a stunning outburst at technical director Jason Wilcox.
Matters on the pitch may not be helped by Manchester United's current injury crisis, either.
Martinez was forced off at half-time against rivals Leeds on Sunday and is a doubt for Wednesday's trip to Italy. Definitely missing are long-term absentees Benjamin Sesko, Patrick Dorgu and Manuel Ugarte, while Leny Yoro misses out through suspension after being sent off against Atleti.
Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw and Ayden Heaven were unable to feature at Elland Road and are likely to miss out here too.
Como will be without star forward Diao after he suffered a hamstring injury after opening the scoring against Feyenoord. Jesus Rodriguez is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a knock in training and will be joined by summer signing Trevoh Chalobah, who is out for two weeks.
