Arsenal have potentially suffered a major injury blow after Bukayo Saka was forced to be substituted just nine minutes into their league phase clash with Bayern München.
Following a quiet start to the UEFA Champions League fixture at the Fußball Arena München, the visitors were forced into an early change as the winger was replaced Eberechi Eze.
With no-one around the 25-year-old, Saka's ankle looked to turn awkwardly as he made a pass and he immediately waved to the bench after going down.
The Arsenal medical team were clearly concerned about the nature of Saka's injury and it was decided relatively quickly that he could take no further part in proceedings.
While the Premier League champions are blessed with a star-studded squad, there were some questions marks from Arsenal fans on deadline day as many were expecting their side to bring in another attacking option - especially when they were happy to expense of the services of Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.
Greek winger Chrístos Tzólis was signed on a five-year-deal in July and while he has impressed, the 24-year-old is currently out injured and if Saka is also unavailable, the Gunners may be left light at the top end of the pitch.
