Joao Pedro scored a brace as Chelsea defeated Milan 3-0 in the penultimate friendly of their pre-season of Asia at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.
Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso named a strong starting XI and opted to go with three central defenders as Jorrel Hato accompanied Wesley Fofana and Josh Acheampong at the back.
Pedro Neto and Marco Palestra operated as the wing-backs either side of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia in midfield, while Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro provided support to lone striker Danny Welbeck.
Joao Pedro had missed a glut of chances in the first half, but he made amends in stoppage time to nod the Blues in front after peeling off his marker and nodding an in-swinging corner beyond the static Lorenzo Torriani.
Chelsea were quick out of the blocks in the second half and a sublime in-swinging cross from Neto saw presented Joao Pedro with an opportunity he couldn't miss, with the Brazilian immediately doubling the Blues' advantage.
Alonso's side were out of sight five minutes later as Caicedo gathered a Milan clearance on the edge of the D before finessing a delightful effort into the bottom right corner.
Chelsea continued to pepper the stricken Torriani in the Milan goal, and Alonso intriguingly introduced Nicolas Jackson to the fold alongside Geovany Quenda. It was the latter who thrived, marauding down the right flank and striking the woodwork with an effort from outside of the box.
Jackson also decided to rattle the post after some excellent centre forward play which left Valeri Vladimirov on his backside, only to see his strike hit the outside of the woodwork.
Despite Milan's inferiority, it's a strong runout for Chelsea, who comprehensively outplayed their Serie A opponents.
