Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Scotland youth international centre back Alfie Osborne from Hearts.
The 17 year-old, who has featured for Scotland at U19 level, is a product of the Hearts youth setup, but is now reportedly set to join Premier League side Chelsea.
Chelsea have been notorious for hoovering up the best young talents from across the UK and Europe in recent seasons, with Osborne looking like the latest in a long line of youngsters to join the Blues.
Possessing the ability to play on either side of central defence, Osborne has also featured for Hearts' youth ranks in defensive midfield, with his versatility likely to be a significant draw for Chelsea's scouts.
The news of his impending move to Chelsea comes via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X that Chelsea had 'agreed a deal' to sign the 17 year-old from the Scottish Premiership runners up.
He continued to say that Osborne had already completed his medical and signed a 'long-term' contract at Stamford Bridge, with the Scot reportedly turning down interest from other clubs across Europe, in favour of joining Xabi Alonso's side.
Despite having yet to make a first team appearance for Hearts, Osborne is extremely highly rated North of the border and this aquisition is seen as a significant coup for Chelsea's youth set up.
For Hearts, losing one of their own is likely to be a significant blow for them, while they are still reeling from missing out on the Scottish Premiership title last season.
