Ben Shelton is out of Wimbledon after losing in five sets to Finland's Otto Virtanen.
Shelton lost the first set 6-4 to the Finnish qualifier before winning the next two sets 6-3 7-6. Virtanen responded by taking the fourth set 6-2, forcing a decider.
With the pair level at 6-6, a 10-point tie-break was needed, with Virtanen winning 11-9.
The number four seed struggled to break Virtanen's serve, converting just one of 12 break points throughout the match, and despite breaking Virtanen in the fifth-set tie-break, was unable to hold his own and crashed out of SW19.
Shelton, who reached the quarter-finals of last year's Championships, was as short as 1/5 to progress pre-match, but follows Casper Ruud, Andrey Rublev, Luciano Darderi, Francisco Cerundolo, Cameron Norrie, Alejandro Tabilo and Matteo Arnaldi out of Wimbledon at the first hurdle.
The result is good news for Britain's Arthur Fery. The French-born 23-year-old beat Damir Dzumhur in four sets in the first round, and should he beat Virtanen, he'll face either Jaime Faria, Zizou Bergs or Ugo Humbert in the third round, which would represent his best Wimbledon performance after his second-round exit last year.
