British tennis star Fran Jones recorded a career-best victory to secure her first victory at the US Open on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old converted all four of her break points to see off Poland's Magda Linette 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 on what proved to be a memorable night for the Briton at Flushing Meadows.
Jones, who hails from Bradford, only secured her first win in any of the four Grand Slam events at the French Open earlier this year, but has now also tasted success on the biggest hard court stage in New York.
A four-time WTA 125 victor, Jones, who was born with a rare genetic condition called Ectrodactyly Ectodermal Dysplasia (EEC) syndrome, is now gearing up for her live-televised US Open second round showdown with world number 14 Iva Jovic later this evening.

Professional Career and Ranking
Born in Bradford, Yorkshire, Fran Jones is the currently ranked number three in the British women's tennis rankings.
A lifelong student of the game, Jones made the bold decision to move to Barcelona at just nine years of age to pursue her dream of turning professional.
After initially finding her love for tennis at Heaton Tennis Club in Bradford, she moved on to the Sanchez Casal Tennis Academy in Barcelona to further hone her skills.
She subsequently spent two years at the Ad-In Academy in the same city, before cutting her teeth in the professional ranks on the ITF Circuit.
She has reigned supreme in nine different events at varying tiers since 2017, with her most recent coming at last year's W75 Prague Open.
A clay court specialist -- naturally given her Spanish upbringing -- Jones has also notched four WTA 125 victories in France and Italy.
Her success at the Palermo Ladies Open 12 months ago culminated in a top 100 spot for the first time, whilst she has since reached a career-high WTA ranking of 65.
A sensational comeback win over Brazil's Beatriz Haddad Maia at the French Open earlier this year represented her first ever Grand Slam win; one she has, of course, since backed up at the US Open.

Jones is currently ranked 105 on the WTA's women's world rankings, although her maiden US Open victory over Linette will see her reinstated back inside the top 100 following the competition.

Fran Jones' Medical Condition
Jones was born with a rare genetic condition: Ectrodactyly Ectodermal Dysplasia (EEC) syndrome, meaning she is missing one finger on each hand and three toes and has to play with an extra-lightweight specially modified racket.
The condition has meant the 25-year-old has had to undergo numerous operations throughout her life and even led to medics advising her against pursuing a career in professional tennis when she was just eight.
Undeterred by the issue, Jones has defied the odds to establish herself as one of the best players on earth, and has helped inspire thousands of other youngsters with physical differences to chase their dreams.
