Jack Draper has announced that he has withdrawn from Wimbledon just a day before he was scheduled to play in the first round.
The 24-year-old was set to open his 2026 Wimbledon account against American sixth seed Taylor Fritz on Centre Court on Tuesday, but a reoccurrence of an arm injury has forced him to pull out of the tournament.
It's a major blow for the Brit, who recently expressed his excitement to play in the capital with two-time Wimbledon winner Andy Murray by his side.
Confirmation of Draper's withdrawal comes less than 24 hours after Emma Raducanu announced that she would not be competing at Wimbledon due to a "stress fracture".
Draper said: "Devastated to share that I have had to withdraw from my first round match due to a recurrence of my arm injury.
"There have been a lot of painful moments in the last 12 months but this one is definitely the absolute worst as there is no greater honour for a British player than playing at Wimbledon.
"I will continue to persevere through this. Thank you for the support."
Draper was heading into Wimbledon off the back of reaching the Eastbourne Open semi-finals last week, but injury has denied him a third consecutive appearance at Wimbledon.
The Sutton-born player has never surpassed the second round at the tournament, eliminated at that stage by Croatia's Marin Cilic in 2025.
Draper's injury struggles began after last year's campaign -- where he took nearly seven months off with bruising in his arm -- and he articulated his worries concerning injuries at the top level as recently as Sunday.
He said: "I think it's pretty worrying the state of men's tennis, especially right now. The amount of injuries, especially through young players, Musetti, I know Fils has had a lot of trouble, Alcaraz' wrist.
"When I look at the draws for the weeks when I was out, everything is shoulder, arm, wrist. Whether that's the quality of the balls. I don't think there's more matches nowadays and stuff".
Draper's withdrawl means that lucky loser Dusan Lajovic will take his place in the first round and face Fritz on Tuesday.
