Brighton have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Algerian international Jaouen Hadjam from Swiss Super League side Young Boys.
The Seagulls have enjoyed a productive summer in the transfer window thus far, with six senior signings joining the Premier League club for a combined outlay of more than £100million.
Fabian Hurzeler is intent on bolstering squad depth as Brighton prepare for a return to European football, after securing a UEFA Conference League berth by finishing eighth in the table last season.
It appears that the latest new arrival on the south coast will be Algerian full-back Hadjam, with a report from Footmercato claiming the two clubs have reached an agreement over terms for a permanent transfer.
The French publication stated that the final details are currently being ironed out and that an announcement of the move is expected imminently.
Born in Paris, Hadjan spent time in PSG's academy before making his senior debut with their rivals in the French capital Paris FC.
The 23-year-old later moved to Nantes in January 2023 before signing with Young Boys the following year for a reported €1.3million.
In his maiden campaign at the Stadion Wankdorf Hadjam was part of the Young Boys side that claimed their 17th league title, and he has since been a regular feature for the club in the UEFA Champions League.
A French youth international at multiple age groups, he later switched his international allegiance to Algeria and made his senior debut for The Desert Warriors in 2023.
Hadjam has since earned 21 international caps, scoring three times and he made three appearances at the 2026 World Cup as Algeria reached the knockout stage for just the second time in their history.
Should he complete a move to the Amex, Hadjam will be competing for minutes on the right side of defence with Mats Wieffer, who started the club's 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa in their opening game of the season.
