Sunderland are reportedly interested in exploring a deal to sign Serbian defender Nikola Simic from Partizan Belgrade.
Simic was named in the Serbian SuperLiga team of the season in 2025/26 as he shone for Partizan at the age of 19.
The 6ft 4ins centre-back has featured 41 times in the league since progressing through the club's academy and breaking into the first-team.
He has also earned recognition by making two appearances for Serbia this year.
His performances have caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs and it appears a trio of clubs are now interested.
On The Minute have reported that Sunderland have joined Brighton & Hove Albion and Coventry City in monitoring the defender.
It is believed that no bids have been made as things stand but that situation could develop as the number of teams linked with the player increases.
