Brentford and Newcastle United are reportedly battling it out to secure the signing of Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Touré this summer.
Touré joined the Bundesliga outfit in February 2025 for a reported fee of €14 million from Swedish side Hammarby.
After penning a long-term deal, Touré made a tentative start to life in Germany as he featured 13 times over the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
Last season saw Touré become a regular feature as Hoffenheim finished fifth in the Bundesliga table and secured UEFA Europa League football for the upcoming campaign.
The 20-year-old starlet contributed nine assists and five goals in 29 league appearances as he enjoyed a breakthrough season.
Africa Foot have reported that Touré's performances have alerted the attention of Brentford and Newcastle United, who are believed to be in direct competition for his signature.
Both clubs are believed to be preparing bids for the winger who could cost in the region of €40-50m.
Touré is currently with the Ivory Coast squad at the 2026 World Cup and he featured twice for his country during the group stage.
Brentford are set to make the first move for the player as they look to build on last season's impressive ninth-placed finish.
However, an interesting backdrop to the potential deal is that the Hoffenheim player is managed by the same agency that negotiated Anthony Gordon's transfer from Newcastle to Barcelona.
The Magpies remain in the market for reinforcements on the wing and the explosive pace and direct nature of Touré's wing play could provide a shrewd replacement for Gordon.
